INSTRUCTIONS FOR MANUALLY INSTALLING SPM FILES FOR MODELER APPLICATION:

Locate your Modeler installation path. Typically, this should be something like
	C:\Program Files (x86)\Bose\Bose Modeler 6.11

Go to ...\data\speaker_data\Bose
	you should now see subfolders for the various product series

Copy the 5 BMP files into the "Images" folder.

Copy the 12 AMU (-120) SPM files into the "AMU" folder.

Copy the DM12SE SPM file into the "DesignMax\Surface" folder.

Copy the 3 DML88P SPM files into the "DesignMax\Pendant" folder.

Copy the 6 EM (-LP) SPM files into the "EdgeMax" folder.

Within the "Bose" folder, create a "Forum" folder. Copy the 10 SPM files into that new Forum folder.

Copy the STS118E SPM file into the "Subwoofer" folder.

DESIGNMAX DM12SE - IMPORTANT NOTES FOR USING THIS SPM FILE:

The DM12SE SPM file is available in low-impedance only and includes the recommended speaker EQ.

Different from the other DesignMax surface mount speakers, the default mounting orientation of the DM12SE is vertical. If the DM12SE is to be mounted horizontally, 90° of Roll have to be applied to the loudspeaker.

As usual, the SPM speaker data is defined for Continuous (LEQ/RMS) SPL. For DM speakers, assuming sufficient peak power is available from the selected amplifier, Peak SPL up to 6 dB higher than RMS SPL can be expected (without considering power compression). As an example, if you want to predict maximum LEQ SPL for a signal with 12 dB crest factor, you need to subtract 12-6 = 6 dB from the predicted SPL or apply equivalent gain-adjustments. For the unclipped transmission of peaks, the chosen amplifier must provide 200 * 4 = 800 watts of peak power. The RMS output power will then be 200 / 4 = 50 W.

DESIGNMAX DML88P - IMPORTANT NOTES FOR USING THESE SPM FILES:

The DML88P SPM files are low-impedance and CV passive versions including the recommended speaker EQ.

As usual, the SPM speaker data is defined for Continuous (LEQ/RMS) SPL. For DesignMax (DM) speakers, assuming sufficient peak power is available from the selected amplifier, peak SPL up to 6 dB higher than RMS SPL can be expected (without considering power compression). As an example, if you want to predict maximum LEQ SPL for a signal with 12 dB crest factor, you need to subtract 12-6 = 6 dB from the predicted SPL. For CV amplifiers, depending on limiter settings, the available peak power may only be 3 dB higher than the RMS power, changing the above correction from -6 to -9 dB.

FORUM FC108 & FC112 - IMPORTANT NOTES FOR USING THESE SPM FILES:

For each model, separate SPMs have been created for the 3 different passive configurations and the 2 bi-amped configurations:
	Passive (no DSP Speaker EQ)
	Passive DSP (standard full-range EQ for passive)
	Passive DSP ExtBass (full-range EQ for passive with extended bass response)
	Biamped DSP (standard EQ for bi-amped)
	Biamped DSP ExtBass (EQ for bi-amped with extended bass response)

Like with other bi-amped SPMs (e.g. RM, SM, AM), the bi-amped files require default makeup gains for the LF driver that need to be adjusted by the user within the Loudspeaker tab. This gain is required to align the levels of LF and HF drivers for proper summation in the crossover region. So, before applying any loudspeaker gain or EQ, expand the list for the bi-amped model by clicking the "+" sign and type the respective gain into the Gain field for the LF driver. The default gains are:
	FC108 Biamped DSP (LF): 8.1 dB
	FC108 Biamped DSP ExtBass (LF): 11.1 dB
	FC112 Biamped DSP (LF): 5.2 dB
	FC112 Biamped DSP ExtBass (LF): 8.5 dB

You may then apply any gain in the field for the complete speaker for level adjustment or apply any EQ (at driver level) for equalization.

Note that only the bi-amped SPM versions guarantee that - independent of any equalization applied - the maximum power handling of the respective drivers cannot be exceeded. This behavior is also identical to legacy bi-amped speakers like RM, SM and AM. Especially if you use the EQ section to manually adjust the signal spectrum from Pink to Speech, it is mandatory to use the bi-amped SPM files.

For the passive SPMs, the maximum power handling is defined as the sum of the LF and HF continuous power ratings, that is 172.5 W for FC108 and 345 W for FC112.

As usual, the SPM speaker data is defined for Continuous (LEQ/RMS) SPL. For Forum speakers, assuming sufficient peak power is available from the selected amplifier, peak SPL up to 9 dB higher than RMS SPL can be expected (without considering power compression). As an example, if you want to predict maximum LEQ SPL for a signal with 12 dB crest factor, you need to subtract 12-9 = 3 dB from the predicted SPL.

SHOWTIME STS118E - IMPORTANT NOTES FOR USING THIS SPM FILE:

The STS118E SPM file is available in low-impedance only and includes the recommended speaker EQ (35 Hz to 200 Hz bandpass).

As usual, the SPM speaker data is defined for Continuous (LEQ/RMS) SPL. For the STS118E speaker, assuming sufficient peak power is available from the selected amplifier, Peak SPL up to 6 dB higher than RMS SPL can be expected (without considering power compression). As an example, if you want to predict maximum LEQ SPL for a signal with 12 dB crest factor, you need to subtract 12-6 = 6 dB from the predicted SPL or apply equivalent gain-adjustments. For the unclipped transmission of peaks, the chosen amplifier must provide 600 * 4 = 2400 W of peak power. The RMS output power will then be 600 / 4 = 150 W.
